By using the My Deen Guide app or this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
What we provide
My Deen Guide is a reference and companion application. It provides the text of the Qur’an, prayer times, supplications, hadith and educational material, along with tools for reading and remembrance.
What religious content here is, and is not
This is the most important clause on the page, so it is not buried at the bottom.
Quoted material is quoted, not authored. Translations of the Qur’an, hadith and supplications come from named published sources, reproduced verbatim with their attribution. We do not alter them, and we do not machine-translate them.
Explanatory material is our own words and may contain error. Articles and guides written by us are marked with their author, and with whether a qualified scholar has reviewed them. An article that has not been reviewed carries a visible banner saying so.
Nothing here is a fatwa for your situation. Rulings depend on circumstances that a reference work cannot know. On anything that affects how you worship, consult a qualified scholar who knows your circumstances.
Prayer times are calculated, not authoritative. Times are computed from your device’s location using the calculation method you select. Calculation methods differ legitimately, and device location can be wrong. Where local scholarly authority has set times for your area, follow it.
Accounts
An account is optional. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. You may delete your account at any time; see Delete your account and data.
Community content
If you post in the community features, you are additionally bound by the End-User Licence Agreement, which sets out the content rules and the zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content that app store guidelines require.
Acceptable use
Do not use the app or the site to break the law, to harass anyone, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, to scrape at a scale that degrades service for others, or to redistribute the bundled content in bulk in a way that breaches the licences of the underlying works.
Intellectual property
The app’s software, design, ornamentation, original written material and branding belong to us. Quoted religious texts and translations belong to their respective rights holders and are used with attribution; their licence terms are recorded on Our sources & methodology. Fonts are used under their own licences.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or discontinue features. We aim to give notice for changes that would remove something you rely on. The service is provided “as is”; we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app or the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Reporting an error in religious content
If you believe something here is misattributed, mis-graded or mistranslated, please tell us at support@mydeenguide.com. Corrections to religious content are read first and acted on fastest.
